Classic Bike Challenge

THE 2017 CLASSIC BIKE CHALLENGE – SATURDAY 17TH JUNE 2017

Welcome to the 2017 BIKER RALLIES UK Challenge.

The object of this challenge is to complete various stages, collecting answers to clues and or receipts on your travels. These answers and or receipts form the basis of the successful completion of the Event.

Insurance –

BIKER RALLIES UK DO NOT PROVIDE ANY INSURANCE COVER FOR THESE CHALLENGES AND ACCEPTS NO LIABILITIES IN ANY RESPECT FOR ANY RIDER/PASSENGER TAKING PART IN THIS EVENT.

It is therefore VERY IMPORTANT – You should check that your Motorcycle insurance covers you for this event.

This is not a race and speed plays no part, in the challenge whatsoever.

You are therefore strongly advised to check with your Insurer before taking part.

Passengers/Pillions: Many Passengers take their turn in riding, this can help reduce tiredness brought about by long stints on the front, even though you comply with the compulsory rest breaks.

It is essential that Passengers/Pillions check that they are insured whilst riding in the event. Although many Passengers who own a motorcycle may have cover to “ride other motorcycles with the owner’s permission”, they may not be covered whilst riding in such an Event. Therefore Passengers/Pillions are recommended to check their insurance cover to ensure they are covered for such an event as it is unlikely they will be covered by the main entrants own bike policy.

This years Challenge will start and finish at The Langton Inn adjacent to the Premier Inn, Melton Road, East Langton, Market Harborough LE16 7TG – accommodation is available at the Premier Inn (click this link).

Accommodation is available, bacon rolls and hot drinks available at the start and evening meals available until 20:30 at your own expense.

This year we have split the Challenge into 3 parts:

CLASSIC AWARD:

To complete the Event successfully you must gain answers/receipts from 12 of the 20+ clues/receipt points noted on the map. This will entail you travelling to 12 check points, which includes 3 compulsory points, on the map. Your route must cover a minimum of 130 miles and you must take 2 x 30 minute breaks during the Event.

The clues will be issued at signing on at ROYAL OAK and checked at the finish also at Royal Oak, Swayfield. The receipt points will be issued along with the maps prior to the event start date and you can expect to receive them via email two weeks prior to the event.

Registration is from 09:30 – 10:30, the finish will be open from 17:00 – 22:00

These will be daytime routes only.

The event is open to all Riders/Classic Motor-cycles and Classic Motor-cycle combinations.

The entry fee is £18 per Rider. Passengers may be carried but will only qualify for an award if they are included on the Entry Form and an additional fee of £10.00 per passenger/pillion has been paid.

Entry fees for all riders/passengers will only be refunded in event of cancellation being notified, in writing, before the closing date for entries.

On the day entries will be accepted for an entry fee of £23 per rider and £15 per pillion. The increase in price reflects that the awards will need to be posted out to the riders/pillions.
